Cannot Drag an attachment to a new email when the attachment has the # symbol in the file name.

Can anyone explain to me why this is?

I have seen this forum post regarding the same issue but no explanation:

http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/95bf8d3c-5ba7-44f2-b797-c10b4134320a

This is a problem for me becuase we use a file sharing system that appends a file number onto each filename in the system, including the # symbol.  Ex:  MyCompany - #12345My file Name.docx

Users send these documents as attachments to other users but the recipients can't simply drag and drop the attachment into a new email.

Yes, a work around is saving to the desktop and attaching it from there, or simply forwarding the email; but when someone is used to doing something a certain way it becomes a big problem even though the work around is simple. (we all know how users can be)

If anyone has any insight into this issue please let me know.

Thanks,

Kyle
