Hi there,
Setup:
Windows XP SP3 32-bit
Office 2010 SP1 32-bit (updated with latest patch)
When viewing an email with either word or excel attachment (haven't tried others), clicking the file to preview will show the message"Starting Microsoft Word Previewer" and eventually crashed.
The usual crash box displaying "Microsoft Outlook has encountered a problem and needs toclose" with the following details:
Application Event log shows:
More info:
This laptop was infected and cleaned using Kaspersky Rescue Disc.
After that, Outlook behaves like this.
In addition to this issue, previously when opening (double-click) the attached file within Outlook would cause the target application to crashed as well - this has been fixed by reinstalling MS Office 2010.
For now, the only way for people to view the attachment is by opening it, not previewing it.
Also can't preview PDF, but this time the message says something aboutpreviewer not installed.
I've tried the following:
- re-create Outlook Profile
- test this with another user account
- repair MS Office 2010 installation
- uninstall, restart, then install MS Office 2010
- disabling protected view:

- set DCOM permission

The only thing i haven't tried to to rebuild the laptop from scratch, which I really want to avoid doing.
Really appreciate any advise!
