We are in the process of migrating users from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010. A number of migrated users have noticed Outlook 2010 states it is still connected to the Exchange 2010 server but emails queue up in the Outbox and no new emails are received. When this happens there is a rotating egg timer icon for Outlook on the task bar. We have updated a number of these users to Office 2010 SP1 with no joy resolving this issue. It turns out the affected users are all on Windows XP SP3. Windows 7 users in the same environment are unaffected. Windows XP users connecting to Exchange 2003 are not affected either.
A PC reboot/creating a new profile does not resolve this issue. Outlook does start syncing eventually after a long wait. Running outlook in safe mode sometimes works (not always). We have tried deactivating the McAfee Email Scan Add-In but the problem still remains.
The only error logged on the client is an Officeboathang error.
Any help resolving this issue will be greatly appreciated as it is holding up our transition to Exchange 2010.
Thanks.
