Hello all, I have a problem that I have spent hours trying to fix, but I haven’t been able to find any solution for it, so this forum might be my last option. My problem is that I have some Windows 7 Pro clients (64 bit) which are, for some reason, I don’t know or can figure out, is dropping the Outlook 2010 EML setting in Internet Explorer. To be more precise imaging this:
You have an intranet website, hosting emails from customers that write to your customer service email. So let’s say we are dealing with Mr. Jensen who is writing an email with a technical question to customer service email, another system is picking up the email from the customer service mailbox, giving it a ticket number and saving the email as an .EML-file, the ticket is then assigned to an employee. All of the employees are using the .EML file which is saved in the ticket, to open the email and reply directly in Outlook2010. (See pic1)
But for some reason, a few of the Win7 clients is opening the .EML file directly in Internet Explorer (see pic2)
It’s totally ignoring the EML association settings (see pic3)
I have tried different registry fixes, but nothing seems to work :( I should mention that the clients with problems has Firefox installed. I don’t know if that could cause the problem.
Can you help me? :)
Best regards Kim Maartensen
