Synchronizing CRM contacts to Outlook

Read dozens of articles, all about synchronizing Outlook to CRM but very few where about the reverse, and not very clear on that subject either. including this one:http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2006/08/21/712717.aspx

During synchronisation, I only receive a message that it failed. No error code of some sort.

Can somewone explaine to me how to synchronize CRM 2011 contacts to my Outlook 2010. Is it possible to use a custom filter I use in CRM. I don't have any contacts in my Outlook, so I would like to start with importing the contacts and then kepping them synchronized with CRM.
