Windows 7 Mail Profile can't be removed.

Outlook 2013 32 bit created a default mail profile upon first start up under Windows 7 64 bit.

Using the mail applet in control panel I added a new profile with 5 POP email accounts, pointed to a pst file on drive d:, and marked it as default.

Outlook now refuses to start. A box says that Outlook has stopped working. Starting in safe mode did not help. Repairing the office installation did not help.

The mail applet in control panel is unable to remove the original mail profile because it says it contains email accounts. It tells me to use the email tab to remove them first, but there are no email accounts in this profile. This original profile is not checked as the default profile.

Should I attempt to delete the registry keys which the mail applet establishes using regedit?

Should I completely remove the office 2013 installation and then try to remove the mail profiles?
