For some contacts the pictures will automatically sync from the GAL to the local contacts and some will not
The difference is whether the email type is set to EX or SMTP. If it is EX and i then delete the email adress, and retype it by hand "username@domain.com" and hit save - it is saved as smtp format and the "update" button will be able to pull down the picture from the GAL.
If the type is set to EX it will pull almost all other information when hitting "update", but not the picture for some reason. (also have a problem with otherTelephone field which is registered in another thread)
When adding a contact from the GAL to the local contacts it will set it to EX and give issues with the sync in the future.
To see the email type:
1. open up a contact
2. click "all fields"
3. under "select from" choose "e-mail fields"
If anyone has any ide how to resolve the issue where the picture update works for smtp adresses, and not EX - please post :)
