Hello, I am using currently Office 2013 Professional Plus 64-bit on my PC in my company. I am not sure what kind of MS exchange server we are running as I have no access to the server itself (best guess is Exchange 2010). The problem I have is when I wanted
to get info from organization tab from contact card using either:
- Lync 2013 -> find some name from my company -> right click on contact -> "See Contact Card"
- Outlook 2013 -> find email from somebody in my company -> right click on the contact -> "Open Contact Card"
Now here I would expect to see several tabs including "ORGANIZATIONS". Unfortunately this is missing. So I have done some googling about this and find out that it can be disabled by serveral ways, but none of them is actually deployed in my company - I already confirmed this our internal support. During the investigation by support the guy removes files located at:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\Offline Address Books\<some-long-UUID-or-something-like-that>\*.oab
Then he asked me to restart outlook and lync and wait till it automatically download a new copy of Global address book. While I was waiting till that happens (take some time to download a lot of that staff), I tried to repeat the steps to verify that it is working or not and I realize that it started to work (I was able to see ORGANIZATION tab of some randomly chosen contacts). But once the download completed and I restarted Outlook and Lync as well, the ORGANIZATION tab was gone again. Then I realized whether this is not a problem of the cache itself, so I have disabled the cached mode and ORGANIZATION tab was back again. Enable cached mode back and ORGANIZATION tab was missing again (note that I was always connected to the exchange without any problems).
So I have started to google about this behavior, but it seems that nobody was reporting something like this. So I am reporting this here. Maybe somebody of you would be able to tell me what can done to fix this?
Thanks
Stefan
