We have a autoreply setup in VBA. We've seen a issue where if the sender has their auto reply on as well, then many messages can be passed back and forth. Case scenario, a sender has their auto reply on. They send us a message. Outlook VBA sends a email back to them with our auto reply. The sender receives our reply and replies back to us with their auto reply. This repeats until they turn off their auto reply.
What are some different ways to avoid this without producing any false positives? We keep a copy of all received emails in a pst. The mailbox is POP3. IMAP Access is available.
Currently, I'm thinking of using Restrict to find emails from this sender. If the body matches the past five emails, then mark this email as unread. This would prevent the email from being scanned for processing auto replies.
