I am trying to upgrade an e-mail client from Outlook Express 6 to Outlook 2010. There are two "identities" in Outlook Express, one for work and one for personal use. OE keeps mail separated between these two identities, and it is easy to switch from one identity to the other in OE.
What is the best way to transfer (without combining) the mail from these identities into Outlook 2010? What equivalent function is there in Outlook to the OE identities? (we want to continue keep the work and personal e-mail completely separated)? My understanding is the Outlook will only "see" the default identity in OE, and that we may have to make two passes at this (after changing the default identity in OE) to get everything over to Outlook. What I am hoping to avoid is merging everything into one indistinct whole in Outlook.
By the way, both programs will be on the same computer (at least initially), so there is no machine transfer involved here.
Thanks very much for any help you can offer. I have successfully done other Outlook Express to Outlook conversions, but never with multiple identities in OE.
