OK, we just installed Office Pro Plus 2010 for use with Office 365 Exchange Online, and having an issue with Outlook search. I've replicated the problem on multiple computers in our office (Windows XP and 7), with multiple user mailboxes, as well
as in Outlook on my home PC. Someone else out there must have run into this same problem...

We are signed up for Office 365 E3 plan, which is 25GB mailbox with unlimited archiving. This problem only occurs when using
the "All Mail Items" search option to search both the online and archive mailboxes simultaneously.

If I enter a search term, the results come back, no problem. Here is my problem: If I enter a second search term, the
search begins but the view showing my list of emails immediately goes blank. Meanwhile, you can see the result count (Items) in the lower left-hand corner incrementing, i.e., the search is running successfully. It completes, but
you cant see any results (there are no emails shown in my view). And the grand finale - if I click to sort my (non-existent) results by whatever fields I want to sort, the results magically appear.

So to recap, I do a search, and I get results.

I
do a second search - whether it's to refine my first search, return all results if results were limited to 200, whatever - I get results, but I can't see them (don't be fooled by the "Searching..." message - that stays, even after the
search has completed):

Until I sort the view:

I've tried everything under the sun I can think of: Rebuilding the search index, Outlook in safe mode, reinstall Outlook, Outlook in online mode, outlook in caching mode, disabling the "Limit Search Results" option, deleting/recreating
Outlook profile, deleting/recreating Windows profile. No luck. This only happens if I search "All Mail Items". If I limit my search to a single mailbox - just the archive, or just the online mailbox - no issues, everything works great.

I
am now about to begin with a brand new machine, brand new installation of Office Pro Plus, no Office updates installed, to see how that works. If it works, I'm going to start installing one Office update at a time until the search breaks. Or, if someone can
help me before I go through all that, I would greatly appreciate it.
