We are having some problems with outlook 2010 on Windows Server 2008R2 Ent sp1, running Citrix XenApp 6.5 on Vmware ESX 4.1u2.
The Citrix server has 8 cores of 2.4 Ghz and 8 GB memory. 6 users are using this server, so there is plenty resources.
The exchange server is in the same gigabit network, but on a physical Dell server with 2 physical xeon E5504 2,0 Ghz processor and 32 GB memory. There is about 4 GB memory available at all time. The exhcange server is running Windows Server 2008sp2 and exchange 2010sp2.
The problem occurs when sending. Outlook hangs up to 3-4 minuts (not responding) before the mail gets sent, and outlooks starts responding again. This occurs almost everyday after lunch for a number of users.
We have tried safe mode, with a little bit improvement, but not good enogh. The hangs are not for 3 minuts but maybe 1/2 minute or so. They are also not so often. In safe mode another problem occured for some users. The scrolling in a email stopped working. One user was also not able to select just one email. When the user clicked on another email in the inbox, it was like CTRL was active.
We have 4 citirx servers with almost the same specs, but all on vmware. but there is just some users that has the problem.
