I had a complete crash (I lost everything, including Windows.), all I had was the Dell start up/ boot menus. I paid a tech to fix it & even though I lost everything, the windows ( Windows xp professional version 5.1.2600 servce pack 2 build 2600) was installed. Before the crash I had ms works & office installed. Now, nothing. Not even wordpad (I do have notepad though). I tried installing Office 2007 that was given to me, but it woudn't work. I NEED a document progam. I can't compose or open any documents. I just went back to school and I can't do or receive my homework. Even w/ a flashdrive. My laptop is older, but I can't afford a new one, & mine is worthless. My question is, if my computer had ms works (I installed the office @ a later date.) in it's original factory programs, is there a way to download it for free again? Or is there anyway or anywhere to get a free version of either program (an older version would be is fine), that can be downloaded? I'd really apprecite any help. I'm falling behind in school. Thanks.
