We are using Outlook 2007 to share calendar.
Here's our story:
We have configured "default" permission as "reviewer" so that everyone could check shared calendar, but what we need is that how to forbit others opening calendar items from calendar view screen.
All in all, we would like to share calendar with everyone and prevent them from opening the calendar item and see the detail.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

I've got a weird Office 2010 issue here I'm starting to see not just with one or two users, but with different customers I support.
Basically, Outlook will come up with not responding for the users. Ususally when accessing data across the LAN. Now, I can't do anything at this point. I can't kill the process - it still remains in the list of processes. If I do a taskkill on the PID or the
outlook.exe from the CMD line, I get told there is not process running - there bleeding well is!
Attempting to load Outlook again will cause the splash/loading screen to sit at loading profile, FOREVER. I assume that a portion of the profile is being seen as locked by the phantom outlook.exe process.
I've been able to rule out the PC, as different ones have been tried. I've blown away the Outlook profile and repair installed Office multiple times. I've even uninstalled the suite completely and reinstalled, but the issue creeps back into play again after
a few months. The only other thing I can think of would be to completely blow the users MB away on the server and start with a new MB or worse, user account. But they don't have any other problems apart from their Outlook hanging.
All the PC's are Windows 7 SP1 (mixture of x86 and x64) machines with minimum 2GB RAM.
I have done a SCANPST on the OST/PST files, cleared any errors with the files. I've also renamed the frmcache.dat file to .old. I also tried an Outlook.exe /CleanViews. All of those troubleshooting steps, in addition to the one detailed previous, have been
unsuccessful.
A network issue is the only thing I can think of - it's a very consistent trend in any of the instances I've noticed it. Although, there is literally two users in one site and one in another that are having the problems. I'd understand if more were having issues.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Environment is Exchange 2010 SP2 & Outlook 2010 SP1.
When a user tries to open a recurring appointment on a shared calendar by selecting "Open this occurrence" they receive an error that says, "Cannot open this item".
If the user selects "Open the series" the appointment opens just fine.
The permissions on the calendar are Default: Author. If I change the permission toDefault: Editor they do not get the error but I do not what them to have editor permissions.
I found a KB article about a similar issue but it was for Outlook 2007.

Hi, I am working as software developer. I am in charge of the maintenance tasks of some of our company's sites. Most of those sites are sending email notifications once a transaction/ticket is created. I have put my email address to the BCC in those email
notifications so whenever there is an issue i have a copy of the email notification. My question is i will be out of office for some days and i need to setup an auto reply, how can i setup a rule which the OoO is being sent only when I am in the "TO"
and "CC"? I don't need to send an OoO when i am only BCC'ed. Thanks

We have an issue when exit Outlook, the Save As pop up and whant to save NormalEmail.dotm. We have set the "Workgroup templates path" and "Allow Trusted Locations on the network".
I have read several tips about this and have no NormalEmail.dotm in the userprofile, and not fine any working reg hack.
So why does "NormalEmail.dotm" mess with me?

I work in a Finance team of 6 people. We all have access to a special mailbox called "ASKFinance" and we are supposed to deal with items received on a rota basis.
However, because we are all busy, the mailbox gets ignored, which is not good.
I can program in VBA and I am sure that I could program Outlook to just pop up a "msgbox" alert when an email is sent to this mailbox, and as an added refinement, only display it on say Friday, if this is my nominated day.
Unfortunately, I have never seen any sample Outlook VBA sub routines, so I have no idea how to code the correct even, or how to refer to a mailbox.
Can anyone assist please. The entire team would really appreciate this!

However, I am having trouble directing to the exact location of the shared calendar.
We are using Exchange Server 2007 and Outlook 2010.
Is there an easy way to find the exact pathname for the shared calendar?

I have a problem with my created outlook 2010 template.
I unseparated the read and compose page and add a new text field and a radio button selection. Then I published the form in my personal forms library. After that I run this form and select the radio button and wrote test into the new text field. After sending I got the email with the new fields from the template but the radio button was unselected and the text field was empty. It is the same im the sent and inbox.
Do you have an idea why the email is empty?
We also have the problem that the form is not available in the preview pane. How is it possible to show the form in the preview pane too?

At work we have a couple of top-brass that use MacBook's (because they like the look of them) but run pretty much all the software through Parallels and Windows 7 (not boot camp). As technicians we are trying to move these guys from Outlook 2007 / 2010 on Parallels to native Outlook 2011 on OS X which it appears they are happy to do.
Their PA's run Windows 7 and Outlook 2010 and our senior IT management are worried that there are compatibility issues between the two versions of Outlook on the two different platforms so are hesitant to let us move them onto Outlook 2011 and get rid of Parallels.
As Outlook is merely a front-end to our Exchange server I can't see how there could be any issues with the PA's managing the appointments and email for the top guys but I'm wanting to hear if anyone has had any issues or if there is anything to be aware of.
if you export your calendar with outlook 2013 to a *.pst and import it you have no access!

So I have just installed Office 2013 on a new install of Windows 7 as part of some evaluation work, my issue is when I open Outlook 2013, I get one, sometimes two blank windows with the title WORD either infront or sometimes behind the outlook window, and outlook doesn't display the preview of the email correctly. I have tried a repair option but that didn't help.
I also looked in task manager and sure enough along with Outlook there are two instances of word, these all close if I exit outlook
What I have found is if I have outlook full screen, the two word windows open infront of the outlook GUI, I can hit the X to close those and then I see outlook but the preview screen is not working, I have to open the email to see the body. If I put outlook in window mode (not max full screen) the two outlook windows open behind and I do get the preview screen and can not close them with the x button...
The older Outlook (2010, 2007) is fine opening them.
Is this a bug?
Anyone has any experience on this? I know 2013 is kind of new. :)

Environment: Exchange 2010 SP1 RU3, Outlook 2007 SP2/Outlook 2003 SP3
Recently we have started to see issue where Meeting/calendar items creates multiple attachment with same subject line as original meeting within meeting, causing duplicates all over place.
So far we have seen upto 65 attachments within same meeting. Earlier we used to clean up same by usng MFCMAPI by deletng the hidden attachments.
however in recent couple case, MFCMAPI starts showing error shown in image:
Now there are two questions:
1. How to workaround above shown image and fix the current attachment issue. I am using MFCMAPI May 2011 version 6.0.0.1026. Not sure if Exfolders will help but can give it a shot.
2. Why / What factors causes these internal attachment issue?
