Duplicate Emails. One displays as SMTP email address. The other as the display name
I have 1 associate who is sometimes receiving duplicate emails. Worst case scenario, I know. I cannot find any rhyme or reason why they are duplicating. I've checked the rules on his account and didn't see anything that would cause it.
We are running exchange 2010 sp2. Client is outlook 2010. I've copied the header information of the two emails below while leaving out sensitive info.

Unintended recipient getting added to sent email
Hi All
This has happened twice now, and no, i'm not imagining things! I've
used the REPLY button to reply to an email received from person X, and
the email is addressed to person X and gets to person X however,
person Y ALSO gets a copy of the email.
The person X in both cases has been different, but the person Y has
been the same (it's a distribution list) - they're not selected under BCC or anything like that.
I reveive an email back from the unintended recipient advising me of my error in emailing them, but I never did.
The unintended receipient is also receiving these emails from other people in my company, but everyone is convinced that they have not selected this address in any way (not even auto-complete).
It seems that after the email has been sent Outlook adds this recipient to the email.
What is happening here?
I have heard of this being reported before, but the trail keeps going cold.
Why does one department keep receiving emails from an array of users who never selected their distribution email address?

hello
how can I enable the encrypt and sign button without "File - Properties etc"
What *.xml we must change. Does anybody have a HowTo

Outlook rules on forwarding
Outlook 2010 Rules not working for a user. We set up Four different rules which forward an email based on sender address or subject - which forwards to other internal users on the same domain. It looks like none of the rules are working at all. Curious if someone could point out what the rules are.
Outlook is being used in cached mode. All users involved are on same exchange 2010 server.
If the email that should be forwarded is read by the original recipient on their BB device - would this have any effect? Does outlook need to be open?
Thanks

Cannot read toolbar data
Hi,
Maybe someone can tell how to solve the O2003 SP3 issue. Everytime one of our users starts Outlook he gets the error "Cannot read toolbar data".
We did the following things which does not help:
- new outlook profile
- tested with another windows user on the system
- reinstalled Office 2003 (http://office-blog.net/post/Office-2003-vollstaendig-entfernen-und-erneut-installieren.aspx)
- disabled all Addins
- changed beween Online-Cached-Mode
- deleted outcmd.dat
- User is local admin
We perpare another system for this user but it would be great to know why this happens.
Thanks!
Viele Grüße
Christian

Outlook 2010 changing default save location
I have a user that utilizes the keyboard a great deal due to some physical issues. She wanted to change the default save location for Outlook. I did some research and found the steps to do so:
• Open Registry Editor (regedit), browse to HKEY_CURRENT USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Outlook\Options
• Right click an empty spot on the right pane
• Choose New > String Value
• Rename the String Value you created to DefaultPath
• Double click DefaultPath
• Fill in new value data typing the full path of the new default Save As location
Restart Outlook, should work now.
She tried it and it worked - however, when she chooses a sub-folder within that foldef to save an attachment and then goes back to save the next email, it is at that last folder instead of reverting back to the new default (which this is what she wants).
We are using Exchange Server and Windows 7.
Is there a way to set it so it doesn't remember that last one but each time gets set back to the default folder?
Please let me know and thanks!

I am unable to receive emails in Outlook 2010 using a hotmail
All of a sudden I can't seem to get emails in Outlook 2010 with my hotmail account. I tried unistalling Outlook Hotmail Connector, and reinstalling it. The problem seems to still exist. Any clues why this would suddenly come up and how
to fix this?
The send/receive message is:
Task 'hotgroth@hotmail.com' reported error (0x8004102A) : 'Error with Send/Receive. There was an error synchronizing your folder hierarchy. Error : 80041003.'
Task 'hotgroth@hotmail.com' reported error (0x80041003) : 'The server reported a temporary error. Error: 5102. Server. Xfs request 'SyncBinary' failed. Response code: 'Undefined'

Stop Outlook 2010 asking for credentials for second exchange account
Good afternoon everyone.
We have several users that are sharing a mailbox by adding it as a second account in Outlook 2010.
The mailbox is on the same exchange 2010 setup that their personal mailboxes are on.
The issue we have found, is that when opening Outlook, it will always ask you to enter the credentials for the second account, even when ticking "remember password". I would assume this is because when attempting to open the second account, it queries your login credentials for the password. Obviously as they are signed in themselves, the password is not found which is why it prompts you for it.
My question is, can we set a registry setting or something, that stores the password for this account, so the users do not need to enter the password everytime they open outlook?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Eds

OUTLOOK mail has taken over my Primary Hotmail and I cannot access it from anywhere else but outlook
hello everyone!
I am a doctor and have always used a specific hotmail account for my patients folders.
after receiving a link asking me to check out the new 'Outlook.Com' email, (which I so did),
I now find that I cannot access my original hotmail account in any way, I keep on getting the following meessage;
THIS ACCOUNT DOES NOT EXIST PLEASE SIGN IN WITH ANOTHER ACCOUNT
so I had to make up another email account but for <outlook.com>
but ... I still cannot receive or send messages via my original hotmail account.
I have tried for almost 8 continuous hours to try solve this issue, but not being so technically minded
I have failed miserably.
I can access my primary account ONLY through outlook but I cannot login from anywhere else: I would like this option back and available.
this hotmail account is crucial and I need to revert back to it immediately for my patients security.
even my android smartphone has stopped sending email from hotmail as this same message appears on the 'phone
could some kind person reading this please help me to restore my primary email address at hotmail ..?
thanking you for your kind help and support

Outlook 2010 64 bit (on Windows 7 Professional SP1) crashes (even on safe mode) on clicking "Outlook Properties" of any address
Hi,
Outlook 2010 64 bit (on Windows 7 Professional SP1) crashes on clicking "Outlook Properties" of any address (kindly check attached screenshot - referring this as Option I).
Same issue happens if we access Properties option from the address book (screenshot below: - referring this as Option II):
On starting Outlook in safe mode, Option I is not available; however Option II is, and it crashes Outlook.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Does the PST file contain the mail accounts in addition to the messages et al
I regulary backup my PST file for Outlook 2007, and 2010, which I use on on 2 diffrerent machines.
I am going to add a 3rd machine, and will be using Outlook on it. Does the PST file contain all the mail account info as well as the messages? If so, could I then just copy the PST file from one of the other machines into the new machine's storage location of its PST file,. replacing the default PST that will exist, and save myself the trouble of going through all the email account setup procedures?
If the email accounts are not in the PST file, can I stilll copy the PST file to bring the new machine up to date with emails, and folders?
Thanks for any help on this.
Emails in HTML format with linked images show warning in Outlook 2007
Symptom description:
I wanted to send emails in HTML format containing linked images, i.e., images are linked from a server and not embedded within the message.
For testing, I send the email to myself. Upon receipt, the images are not rendered by default, and there is a security warning that reads, "Click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of some pictures in this message".
However, I do receive lot of external newsletters that have images that are linked. And these images are rendered by default without any security warning. I would like to clarify that neither the email not its domain are in Safe Senders/Recipients list.
I have tweaked the registry to avoid displaying attachment sign (paper clip), and it worked.
Please suggest how not to get this "Click here to download pictures..." warning message.
