Mail restrictions in Outlook 2010 not working!

I am kind of confused with outlook 2010...and need some help.

Here is the query;

I set up the IRM so i could restrict recipients from forwarding my mail and so on. Used a windows live account for my IRM. However when i do the test on my computer to a Google account added to my Outlook, i still have the ability to overcome "Do not Forward" restriction. I tried going signing in to my Gmail account from the browser (Firefox) but i still can perform the restricted actions.

My question is why is this happening and how can i get this to work efficiently even when i do a test on my laptop?

Locking Outlook 2010 down

Hello

Outlook Corporate use nubee here,

 Is it possible to make sure Outlook 2010 only logs in to my IMAP server here at work (the one I want them to use) and prevents users from setting up other mail accounts (their personal ones )? We dont have AD here yet but soon we will so that cannot be part of the solution.

Can't search to external email-address in self-made distribution list in Public folder

We have made a lot of distributions list filled with external email addresses, no contact persons, in the Public folders. These lists are to be used by every employee.

To maintain this list we want to search in the public folder to parts of the email-address or whole email-addresses.

Whatever we try we can't get any result.

We use Office 2003 

Is it possible to search in distribution list to an external email-address in public folders?

Sent Items disappear in Outlook 2010 within a minute or so

We have a user who is using Outlook 2010 and when he goes to send a message, it does not show up in his sent items.  We can verify his message is sent as other users get his messages.  But when he looks in sent items there is nothing there.  We are running Exchange 2007.  He can see his sent items in Outlook Web Access when he logs in there but not in his Outlook mail client.

What can we do to fix his issue?

I had too reinstall my office(partnerkey not accepted). But now my searchfunction in outlook isnt working anymore. I did recreate the index but no luck. Anyone with a suggestion? Am using office 2010 and windows 7 prof 64bit

Set all new contacts to certain category

We have a bunch of Android phones. The Ice Cream Sandwich update removed the ability to not show Suggested Contacts from Outlook. However, if we put all the suggested contacts into a certain category, we can deselect them. 

For example, if I set all my suggested contacts to Blue Category, then I can deselect them from showing on the phone.

So, I want to figure out how to automatically set all contacts in the Suggested Contacts folder to a certain group. We have Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2010. I would be happy for a solution on either end.

outlook 2007 can't send or receive email. Mailbox reached maximum size. delete items. How can i increase size of mailbox

outlook 2007 has reached its maximum size and will not allow me to send, receive or move email.  I have already archived the file,  and am only keeping 6 months in the current personal inbox folder.

How can i increase the size of the mailbox so i don't keep having this problem?

Outlook 2010 - Favorites disappear

I just upgraded Outlook 2007 to Outlook 2010.  I had about 20 Favorites (all of them folders in various PST's).  When I opened Outlook 2010 for the first time, they initially appeared correctly (meaning: as they did in Outlook 2007) but then after Outlook finished opening, some just disappeared.  So I added them back and closed and restarted Outlook.  Same result and this time, they reordered.

So then I started Outlook from the Run Command Lin using the /resetnavpane switch.

I then added back some folders (15) and closed and restarted.

It went down to 13 folders.  Closed and restarted.

It went down to 11 folders.  Closed and restarted.

It went down to 9 folders.  Closed and restarted.

It went down to 8 folders.  Closed and restarted.

It went down to 7 folders.  Getting the picture?

I have screen shots to validate this.

Any ideas any one?

outlook first start

Hi guys,

here at the workshop we are sometimes not able to restart our client pc who using outlook express. so I need to migrate on a new pc with win 7 and outlook 2007 or 2010. We migrate .dbx and .wab on a working pc and install outlook, and outlook first start assistant acount configuration come up and ask " do you want to migrate your outlook express acount''. And it create .pst file that I can import in outlook.

My problem is, how if I get a other pc  and need to do the same trick and get outlook first start assistant acount configuration to pop-up again on the same pc so I can migrate from outlook express to outlook 2007 or 2010.

At this time my best option is reinstall windows and office ( boring as method )

Spell check for the English mailbox defaults to French when replying

Hi All,

Need help please. The basic premise is that when an email is received from one of the mailboxes based in France, the spell check for the English mailbox defaults to French when replying.  That is annoying to our users and I am not sure what is going on. Any help would be appreciated. Big thanks in advance.

Settings for configuring New Email Alerts for Multiple Accounts on Outlook 2010

Hi,

I have 2 email accounts which I am accessing via an IMAP Server.

I have configured my Outlook 2010 to send and recieve emails from these two accounts.

I want to get a alert from Outlook whenever I recieve a new email in either of the two email accounts. (Currently when I click on the Inbox of one of the email accounts, I get the corresponding mail alerts for that account. But i still would not know about new emails I have recieved in my 2nd email account unless I click on the Inbox of the 2nd Email Account.

I want to know if regardless of the number of email accounts I have on Outlook 2010, can the new email alert be configured to check both accounts and inform me about new emails recieved.

Default mail client notification on startup

Hi,

Every time I start my computer I get following notification:

Any ideas what is causing this and how to solve the problem?

This happens on all users of the computer so the problem is not related to user profiles (I think).

Outlook 2010: Accept, Decline, Tentative buttons missing

Hello,

I have a strange issue where the Accept, Decline, Tentative are missing from meeting requests with the 'reading pane' on.  These should be on by default but I have one user where that's not the case and I have not been able to figure out how to restore the default view.

I have attached screenshots to help illustrate.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Share calendar to be editable on 2 computers

Hello

I use outlook 2010 on 2 computers, and i´m wondering if it would be possible to store a calendar online so i can edit it and only i can have access to it.
For instance, i use my pc to update my calendar, i add an appointment and close outlook.
Some time later i open outlook on my laptop and the calendar would be synched automatically.

Is this possible ?

Outlook 2010: Accept, Decline, Tentative buttons missing

Outlook 2010.

When certain users, not all, get meeting invitations, they open the email and have the "No response required" in the field where there would normally be "Accept, Decline, Tentative" buttons.

I dont think there is any relation to screen size, add-ins, hot fixes, or other posts I've seen.

There has to be a way to modify the reading pain when it comes to calendar invites.

I've tried with Office 2007 and 2010 and on different machines with one particular user and they still have this issue.

Tried in both cached and non cached mode, repaired, etc...

When a user searches in outlook some emails do not show up.

We have been working on this for quite some time.  One user, when they try to search in Outlook 2010 or OWA 2007 there will be some emails that do not show up in the search results, even though they are in their inbox.  We have repaired his local outlook profile, recreated his account on his computer, created his account on a new computer.  Tried searching with Outlook indexing turned both on and off, and when on it did say indexing complete.  Search in OWA returns the same results, as does searching his inbox when added as a separate mailbox to another account.  Any help or ideas would be appreciated.  We are running Microsoft Office 2010, Windows 7 Enterprise and Exchange 2007.

How can I change the way I view my emails in Outlook?

I am using Outlook 2003. Is there a way to make my emails in an email chain read from the top to bottom. In other words, I want the first email in the chain to be on the top of the page and the last email in the chain to be on the bottom. I have tried changing the view to Conversation View but that is not what I want.

I don't think that Outlook can do it by itself, but is there maybe a freeware or shareware program that will do it?

How to get logs for Outlook via Debugview?

Hi,

I was just wondering if we can use debugview to get logs for Outlook 2010 like we can for Thunderbird wher we can use the NSPR_LOG options?

Specially for IMAP/SMTP would be really helpful.

Didn't find any good article for this and only logging options I found were Outlook inbuilt as described in:-

Windows 7 Backup - PST fails

Running Windows Backup to EXT HD. Windows 7 PRO. Outlook 2010. I have an outlook profile with Exchange OST and POP PST accounts attached. 

when I run a windows backup and select the appropriate folder to backup  - it keeps failing because of the PST.

User had no issues with old machine (also win7 64bit pro) using old .pst file. The issue occured w/ new machine. So technically a new .pst - but using same ext hard drive - we also tried this on another new external hd but had the same problem. I tried installing different drivers for usb/ext hd but to no avail. And not sure how much the drivers would be involved in the problem - since it backs up the other 58GB w/o issue, including a 10GB OST. PST is 1.7GB. 

Any help, ideas, suggestions would be appreciated.
